The Turkish Organ Transplantation and Burns Treatment Foundation and The Haberal Education Foundation worked with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal to establish Baskent University as a non-profit foundation university in 1993.

The goal of the university is to graduate students who are capable of acquiring the all-encompassing knowledge needed for the information age, possess advanced knowledge usage skills, and are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of health, education, humanities, law, communication, arts, environment, industry, trade, and technology.

Student Accommodation at Baskent University

Baskent University has three dormitories on its Bağlıca Campus. The dormitories can accommodate up to 456 students. The room types available include:
